I played around with a moving platform using a tricycle wheel arrangement with the steering and driving motor on the same wheel.

The chassis was made from a junked copier machine and wheels from a lawn mower and motors I found in junked equipment..

The above design wasn't that great so I went to this design instead once I found some good motors that I could mount some wheels to and that had built in gear boxes.

The motor control circuit which uses relays to switch direction.

The robot used the Apple II computer which I made earlier.

The computer interface board which drives the motors, speech synsizter, etc.

The robot was design to carry a car battery for power.
